Terms and Conditions

Any and all work undertaken with me (Nicole Shapiro) and my company (Nicole Shapiro Copywriting) is subject to the following terms and conditions.

‍You agree:‍

  • You have the authority to enter into this contract on behalf of your organization

  • To provide any necessary information, materials, etc., in a timely manner

  • To review my work, provide feedback, and sign off by the deadlines we agree to

  • To adhere to the agreed-upon payment schedule

Changes and Revisions

‍Edits and changes are a normal part of this process. Every project includes:‍

  • Up to two rounds of edits after the first draft (changes to ~ 10% of copy)

  • One final round of tweaks (small changes to existing copy)‍

This applies only until the job is closed or the work is published. After that, no more changes will be made under that particular project. We can arrange for more work, but it will be considered a new project and will be charged separately.

‍If I do not receive feedback or comments within two weeks of submitting a draft to you (at any stage, whether first draft or subsequent edits), I’ll assume you are happy with the work and move forward.


Copyright

‍Copyright of the work remains with me until I’ve received full and final payment. After that, the rights to the work automatically transfer to you. However, I reserve the right to display a link to the work as part of my online portfolio, unless requested not to do so. ‍

Deadlines

‍I strive to hit my deadlines, but I can only do this if you do the same! This means you agree to submit payments, materials, requested feedback, etc., by our agreed-upon due dates. I will not be held responsible for a missed deadline on my end if you have been late with a deposit, are slow to supply needed materials, or have not provided the feedback necessary to move forward.

I am also not responsible for deadlines missed due to circumstances beyond my control, such as illness, family emergencies, natural disasters, etc.


Payments

‍You agree to remit payment for the work as follows:

  • For projects $500 and over, I will invoice you for 25% of the total fee upfront. This is a non-refundable deposit and reserves your spot in my schedule. The remaining 75% will be due once the project is complete. 

  • For projects under $500, I will invoice for 100% of the total fee upon completion. 

  • Payment is due within 14 days. 

Cancellations

‍If you must cancel a project we’ve already agreed to, please let me know as soon as possible, ideally at least 7 days before the due date. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice may incur a cancellation fee of 25%.
